International Career:

Gordon has voiced his desire to be part of the British Basketball programme since 2010 and visited the team during the 2011 EuroBasket qualifiers when he was injured.  

Ben made his debut for Great Britain in a low-key friendly against Germany in Coimbra, Portugal and will make his EuroBasket debut in 2016

Club career:

Orlando Magic (2014-15), Charlotte Bobcats (2012-14, Detroit Pistons, USA (2009-12), Chicago Bulls (2004-9), University of Connecticut, USA (2001-4)

Gordon spent three years at the University of Connecticut, helping the college to the NCAA Championship in 2004.

That summer, he was taken with the third pick of the NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls, just ahead of future team-mate Luol Deng. In his debut NBA season, he was named as the league’s Sixth Man of the Year as well as taking a place on the All-Rookie First Team after averaging 15.1 ppg.

On 14 April 14 2006, in a Bulls victory over the Washington Wizards, Gordon tied the NBA record for the most consecutive three-pointers made in a game with 9. He holds the Bulls career record for most three-pointers made. He hit a NBA career-high 47 points against Milwaukee on 4 March 2007. Gordon signed a five-year deal as a free agent with the Detroit Pistons in 2009 and had later spells with Charlotte and Orlando.

Personal:

Born in London to Jamaican parents, Ben moved to  New York as a young child but still has an extended family in the UK and retains British citizenship. Each summer, he hosts a charity event in Mount Vernon to help raise money for local youth groups and his former high school. He has been involved with charitable causes fighting childhood obesity and diabetes. He and his partner Sasha have one son, Elijah born in 2011.

Trivia:

On 9 January 2010, Gordon scored the ten millionth point in NBA history.
