International Career:

A veteran of several England campaigns, Mason is one of the original players from the inaugural Great Britain Division B season of 2006. She averaged 10.1 ppg in the Division A campaign of 2009 and finally made her first major tournament appearance in the 2011 EuroBasket Finals in Poland. She also played for GB at the 2005 World University Games in Turkey and on England’s bronze medal-winning team at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia.

Much travelled in her career, Mason has spent the past season with English Basketball League side Barking Abbey, helping the club to the play-off final. She has also had two domestic spells with Sheffield Hatters, winning the EBL League and Cup double in 2009, as well as a further domestic league title with Rhondda Rebels in 2006.

She played collegiately at Manhattan College in New York, USA, where she was their all-time leader in rebounding and 2nd in scoring, as well as an All-Conference selection. She has had overseas professional stints in Israel (twice), Switzerland, Italy, France and Sweden.

Personal:

Mason has 11 siblings and lives and works in London. Her first sporting love was athletics, competing in sprinting and long jump for Herne Hill Harriers Athletics Club. She would most like to meet Maya Angelou, Condoleezza Rice and Michelle Obama. Her favourite actor is Denzel Washington. Plans to focus on a career as a strength and conditioning coach when she finishes playing.

Trivia:

50th GB cap came in a friendly against Latvia ahead of the 2011 EuroBasket Women Finals.
